Come join us for a fun, memorable expedition in Algonquin Park! Algonquin Park is the perfect place for young people to learn about and build on skills related to wilderness travel, survival, and canoe tripping. We believe that backcountry canoe expeditions are at the heart of being Canadian. Meeting at Wilderness Tours Resort, we’ll talk about the plan and the basics of wilderness travel. We’ll then practice some canoe and water-based rescue skills. We’ll examine and pack all our gear and food and spend the Monday night at Wilderness Tours Resort before departing for Algonquin Park on Tuesday morning. Tuesday through Friday morning, we’ll be on our canoe expedition with ample opportunity to learn and practice all things related to canoeing and portaging, including learning how to travel by water while keeping ourselves and our gear safe and dry regardless of weather, navigation by map and compass, setting up camp, properly cooking and storing food, using and maintaining our gear, building fires, recognizing and addressing common injuries, basic ropework and tarping, and Leave No Trace best practices. There will be opportunities for campers to learn leadership skills and develop their abilities in the wilderness while creating great memories with their peers. 

Drop-Off: Sundays 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Monday morning possible. Contact Nanook to Arrange) 

Pick-up: Friday 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Late pick-up is possible. Depending on the timing, there may be an additional charge for meal, accommodation, and staffing. Contact Nanook to arrange).
