Basic Skills Course

Level 1 Skills Course
Toronto, Ottawa | Want to feel confident you can paddle efficiently and safely, and enjoy your kayaking excursions even more. This course teaches you the key paddling strokes, self- & assisted- rescues, safety standards and regulations, and more.
Surf and Current Clinic
Prep & Refresh | This 2½ day program on the Ottawa River will introduce people to dynamic water and develop the skills and recues needed for Level 2 Certification.
Level 2 Skills + Wilderness Camping
Ottawa Area, Georgian Bay | Take your skills to the next level! Now that you can successfully operate your kayak, learn how to make the most of your paddling skills and practice them on a wilderness adventure trip.
In addition to our full summer calendar we’d like to highlight one of our exciting paddle opportunities. Through our Strategic Partnership with TRAK Kayaks, we are excited to invite paddlers of all skill levels out on our five-day expedition and skills development trip on the beautiful Ottawa River. Nanook Expeditions, based in the Ottawa area, offers paddling experiences throughout Ontario.
We offer Paddle Canada certified courses and paddling clinics to help you improve your paddling skills, including Level 1 and Level 2 Sea Kayaking Skills courses. These courses and clinics focus on paddling stroke development, rescues and other great skills that will help you feel more confident to plan your own kayak trips.
In addition, we offer our outdoor adventure trips combining paddling, camping and tasty meals with our experienced guide-instructors. These expeditions are great for families, friends and Corporate groups.
